FP-Producing GBs Efficiency

GBs can produce FPs directly or indirectly. In the former case, the player is able to collect FPs directly from the GB. There are 6 direct FP-producing GBs:

  • Hagia Sophia

  • Castel del Monte

  • Cape Canaveral

  • Innovation Tower

  • Arctic Orangery

  • Kraken

The analysis for these GBs is exactly the same as that of Cape. Please refer to my earlier guide for details. Here we assume all spots are filled at 1.9x.

There are 2 GBs that may lead to FP rewards with some probability:

  • Temple of Relics

  • Blue Galaxy

To compare them with the rest, a simple model is presented as follows.

ToR
We make the assumption that the player completes 64 GE encounters on a weekly basis. The expected FP per encounter is given by

20 x P(20 FP reward) + 100 x P(100 FP reward)
= 20 x P(relic) x P(common) x 1/7 + 100 x P(relic) x P(uncommon) x 1/6

The 1/7 and 1/6 factors are estimates since the exact probability is unknown. The equivalent daily FP reward is then

64 / 7 x [20 x P(relic) x P(common) x 1/7 + 100 x P(relic) x P(uncommon) x 1/6]

BG
To maximize FPs through BG, the player must collect from Indian Palace or Terrace Farm, each giving 5 FPs. We assume the player has enough of these for double-collection attempts. The expected FP is then

5 x P(double collection) x N_attempt

All data is obtained from wikia.

Results
The figure below shows the time needed to reach break-even as a function of target level for all 8 GBs. A local minimum, representing the level of fastest return in FPs after power leveling, is observed for most of the GBs. This level (L) is tabulated with the corresponding time (D in days) and net investment in FPs to reach it at 1.9x. In ascending order of break-even time:

  1. Cape is the fastest at 236 days at target level 60. It is indeed the best GB for FP production!

  2. Inno Tower: 303 days at target level 65.

  3. HS: 332 days at target level 55.

  4. AO reaches break-even in a little bit over a year: 383 days at target level 57.

  5. CdM: 411 days at target level 55.

  6. Kraken: 515 days at target level 55.

  7. BG is the second worst in this list: 582 days at target level 54. However, this is derived from the maximum of 5 FP per double-collection attempt. If 10 FP buildings are offered in the future, the time to reach break-even would be halved, and BG would become the second best in the list.

  8. The level of fastest return for ToR does not exist, since the curve is monotonically increasing through level 70! This is very different from the 7 other GBs that all have a local maximum at around level 20. Power leveling ToR for the sake of FP profit may not be a good idea.

Guild Power and Prestige

You may confuse Prestige with the guild Power/Crowns and how they work - so here it is:

Prestige which determines guild rank on the leaderboard, now comes from three sources - guild level, GvG (sum of power over all maps) and Battlegrounds (equal to 18 * MMR).  #(MMR is the rating given to each guild that is used to match guilds on a battlefield. MMR also determines which league a guild is in. - and is explained in detail below).  Prestige from guild level is generally small. It is equal to 25 times guild level. For a guild with level 50, prestige from level would equal 1250.  Prestige from GvG generally ranges from 0 (for guilds that don't participate at all) to as high as 15,000 - 20,000 for a guild that is at the top.  Prestige from Battlegrounds is equal to 18 * MMR, and ranges from 0 (for guilds that don't participate, or guilds that perform very poorly) to 18,000 (for a guilds that are at the top of diamond league).

To increase your prestige from Battlegrounds, it is necessary to move up to higher leagues.

To increase your prestige from GvG, it is necessary to gain more high-power sectors, particularly on the AA or FE maps.

Increasing your guild level won't help very much.

Everything else produces Power or Crowns (both terms are the same thing), which helps increase guild level.  Each Crown is applied to the guild progress bar, accumulating to reach the next level up for the guild, at which the bar starts over.

From GBG you get Crowns at the end of the battleground according to your placement, similar with GvG at recalc - showing with the next calculation time.  Crowns are also awarded with guild placement at the end of the weekly GE.  Lastly, Crowns can be had from several special buildings, such as; Hall of Fame, Statue of Honor and several production buildings, such as; Bazaar, Gondola, etc.

Guild Battle Grounds MMR explained;

If you imagine that MMR has the range of 0-1000, then the following MMR values determine which league a guild is in:
0-100 Copper
101-350 Silver
351-650 Gold
651-900 Platinum
901-1000 Diamond

MMR is adjusted based on battlefield placement according to the number of guilds in the battlefield, as such (again using a MMR range of 0-1000):

Place   8 Guilds    7 Guilds   6 Guilds   5 Guilds     (guilds on map)

1st        +175          +150         +125         +100

2nd     +125          +100         +75           +50

3rd       +75           +50          +25             0

4th       +25             0            -25            -50

5th        -25           -50           -75            -100

6th         -75          -100          -125            -

7th        -125          -150           -                 -

8th         -175            -              -                 -

In addition, if a guild has been elevated to a higher battlefield (such as a gold league guild participating in a platinum league battlefield), then any losses are cut in half, and any gains are boosted by 50%. So an elevated guild that finishes 2nd in a 5 guild battlefield would receive +75 to MMR instead of +50.

With an MMR range of 0-1000, the prestige awarded at the end of each season is equal to MMR * 18.

Thus prestige ranges for GBG are:
Diamond:     16,218 - 18,000
Platinum:      11,718 - 16,200
Gold:             6,318 - 11,700
Silver:             1,818 - 6,300
Copper:               0 - 1,800

and for the 50,000 dollar question -- of GvG, GE, GBG; which is best to do?

GvG was the gold standard for Prestige, didn't offer much in personal player rewards but did help player points (via the number of fights), but with a PC only play capability and everyone having to be on at 8pm EST for recalc it was a very contemptuous thing. GE came next and offered great personal player rewards, availible for mobile and availability to play at anytime but does not offer any Prestige other than the little added for leveling up a guild (does give Crowns).  Now we have GBG which is basically a combination of the two previous - it gives great personal rewards plus it gives about equal Prestige as GvG...  Thus, if you could only do one, GBG would be the one.

Buying Goods With FP's

Cosmic Raven       gave us this guide for buying goods with Fps on the forum in summer of 17, just before he went missing...

I actually use my own FPs/Goods value chart, which is not based on any unfair trade calculator you can find on the web. I find every single calculator out there doesn't have any clue at all about the true market value of goods or even the true production costs of refined goods. They all pretty much go only off the supply and coins costs for goods production, never factoring in land, population, side effects, 1-lane vs 2-lane roads, or even unrefined goods costs.

When I first came up with my own FP/Goods value chart, I actually started first with PE goods, because I had noticed that on all of the various FoE worlds on which I played the game, the player community has somewhat agreed on what a fair market value of FP/PE goods was, ranging between 20 to 25 FPs for 100 PE goods. The difference was usually if you were buying from a guild mate, or someone who was really a friend of yours (not just on your Friends List), or a player you didn't have much a of relationship with. In such transactions, it was generally accepted that the goods buyer would post a trade like the ratio shown below:

Have 50 <some crappy Bronze Age good> : Need 100 <some valuable PE good>

Keep in mind that the above is only an example trade Ratio; in practice, most actual trades are as large as possible so as to reduce the forge point costs the goods seller would incur by accepting a non-guild trade.

So for my value chart, I started first with the generally accepted value of PE goods and worked outward from there to complete the valuation of all other ages and eras. Here are the FPs-to-good ratios I came up with:

0 FPs/100 BA goods
1 FPs/100 IA goods
2 FPs/100 EMA goods
3 FPs/100 HMA goods
4 FPs/100 LMA goods
5 FPs/100 Col goods
10 FPs/100 Ind goods
20 FPs/100 PE goods
25 FPs/100 ME goods
30 FPs/100 PME goods
35 FPs/100 CE goods
40 FPs/100 TE goods
45 FPs/100 FE goods
50 FPs/100 AFE goods
55 FPs/100 OFE goods

Now in addition to using the FP valuations for the goods I'm selling, I also give my guild mates and close friends "FP Credits" for whatever goods they are trading back to me. Let me walk you through an example.

Example Situation within my guild
Let's say I have a Colonial Age guild mate who wants to construct the Arc.

I'm in FE, where I produce FE goods conventionally (with goods production buildings), and with quest rewards. To produce FE goods conventionally will cost me PME goods which are consumed as unrefined goods. But I'm well situated to handle my demand for the PME goods, because I have: Level 10 LoA (38 PME goods/24 hours), Level 9 StM (48 PME goods/24 hours), Level 10 FoD (34 PME goods/24 hours), and 7 Wishing Wells (7 x 29% x 20 PME goods/24 hours = 40.6 PME goods / 24 hours on average).

However, I also produce TE goods conventionally that consume ME goods as unrefined goods. But since TE goods are one age below my Town Hall, that means that I cannot rely on GBs/Wishing Wells to produce ME goods for me in order to sustain my TE goods goods production — so I either need to trade goods down several eras, or conventionally produce some ME goods myself. I actually produce ME goods myself. But ME goods also consume Colonial Age goods as unrefined goods. So I actually have a personal demand for CA goods.

So my Colonial Age guild mate can actually help me, while I help him. So this is what I have him do:

He post trades like this:
He has 200 <some CA good> : He needs 100 <some FE good>

For each 100 FE goods I sell him this way, he ends up owing me 35 FPs.

Why 35 FPs and not 45 FPs like my charts shows? Because, he traded me 200 CA goods, which on the chart is worth 2 x 5 FPs = 10 FPs in "FP credits" — I gave him credit for the goods he traded back to me in the exchange, because those goods are actually worth something.

As you can see on the valuation chart, Bronze Age goods are worthless because I cannot even donate them to my guild for GE or GvG, I will never personally use those goods, and I already have more than any new players who might join our guild will ever need for tech or GBs.

Again, this was done back in June 2017 and things have changed now - the world is years older, which means more goods are in supply and so far 2 more ages have been added with a 3rd coming this spring/summer -- so...  personally, I do agree with Ravens cost estimate as several other factors do go into goods ontop of the standard coin/supply cost - size/land requirement is probably the most important cost among others.  Thus, I offer a slight modification in Raven's costs to add in the current ages.

0 FPs/100 BA goods

1 FPs/100 IA goods

2 FPs/100 EMA goods

3 FPs/100 HMA goods

4 FPs/100 LMA goods

5 FPs/100 Col goods

10 FPs/100 Ind goods

15 FPs/100 PE goods

20 FPs/100 ME goods

25 FPs/100 PME goods

30 FPs/100 CE goods

35 FPs/100 TE goods

40 FPs/100 FE goods

45 FPs/100 AFE goods

50 FPs/100 OFE goods

55 FPs/100 VF goods

60 FPs/100 SAM goods

This method is still rather expensive compared to what I see goods selling for today but I think if you take the idea of discounting the price for the value of the goods the seller is getting in return I think this normalizes it more - for example:

Traz set = 1750 PE goods wanted = 1750 / per 100 goods = 17.5 * 15FP = 262.5 Fps

IA goods offered 2:1 = 3500 goods = 3500 / per 100 goods = 35 * 1FP = 35 Fps

                                                                                                                         262.5 - 35 = 227.5

so 227.5 or 228 Fps for a set of Traz goods for someone Iron Age, this is about 75 Fps high to what I have sold before (but I got 1/4th the goods in return - as I sold 1:2) and 128 goods higher than the cheapest PE goods I have ever seen offered for a Traz set.  So, we are close but not perfect.

I then offer this solution - why not offer the set (goods) for "profit FP packs" rather than just Fps.  What!?!  So, when someone pays you Fps they have to deposit them on your GBs - which means one of two things, they end of with a place spot on your GB, which in-turn reduces the amount of gain for you as this spot is now taken away from a 1.9 GB Thread (for example; if I had the above 228 placed on my lvl 81 CDM, the 228 would end up taking 4th place, which pays 40 or inotherwords 76 at 1.9 - meaning the spot is worth 76 in the 1.9 GB Thread, so 228 - 76 = 152.  Meaning I actually only get 152 for this transaction).  The second way of having someone pay you is to distribute the amount among multiple GBs -- this is less desirable in my mind because I most likely am not raising multiple GBs at the same time (or even close to a reasonable time) so that means that the payback maybe full but it is worth less to me as it is spread out among many GBs, not to mention even the fact that I would have to take the time to look at each GB and determine the ones it would work on and determine the amounts would not take a place that paid Fps - which means probably no more than 19FPs per GB...what a pain.

Thus, my solution is to have the buyer just keep their Fps and not deposit on any of my GB but rather allow me (the seller) deposit on the buyers GB taking 1st spot for profit until the debt is paid - this would require the buyer to deposit on their own GB to the point that profit can be made by the seller, so this may take a bit more time but the reward is the seller get FP packages placed into their inventory which is real profit.  And I would say justifies the higher rate this cost estimator establishes.
